Black magic: Could you be the victim of a curse?

Do you feel drained of energy? Are you unable to make decisions? Does every little difficulty scare you? Does something hold you back when you try to do what you want? Or, on the contrary, do you find yourself doing things you don’t want to do? Do you feel like you’re fighting against yourself? Have you ever thought that maybe you’re the victim of a curse?

The Illusion of the Sorcerer’s Cave

Black magic is one of the most terrifying branches of esotericism: although the details vary from one culture to another, in all cases, the sorcerer—through incantations—casts a curse upon the designated person, and the effects are always devastating, even if less outlandish than is commonly believed. Most often, it is believed that the victim of a curse may have an accident or fall ill, but this is almost never the case: the spell acts on an energetic level, so the targeted person loses their energy, begins to have doubts, feels unable to act, and eventually withdraws completely into themselves. Thus, if an accident occurs or an illness arises, it is due to an energy imbalance and not the curse.

Of course, the victim realizes that something is wrong, feels trapped in an invisible cage, and tries to react; but the more they try to resist, the stronger the curse becomes, until, finally, exhausted, they stop fighting and become a sort of living dead.

The curse has taken effect, and the sorcerer has won.

In popular belief, it is thought that those who engage in such practices live in a hellish cave, surrounded by stills and crucibles, jars filled with mysterious ingredients, and volumes of magical incantations; a witch or a wizard, capable of commanding the forces of evil and unleashing them—for reasons known only to them—against the designated person.

The Real “Black Magic”: Stealing Energy and Focus

In reality, things are much simpler and less sensational, even if that does not diminish their malevolent power. In an old article, I explained that the feeling of “being able to do” is the way in which energy can be subjectively felt, and that our energy level rises as we focus on our potential. I also explained that we can raise the energy level of the people we come into contact with, helping them focus on the potential and possibilities they possess.

Therefore, inevitably, I can lower both my own energy level and that of others simply by focusing on what is not possible, on what we are not capable of doing; moreover, I can convince myself that I am unable to do something that would be within my reach, and I can become so caught up in the problem that I fail to see the obvious solution.

How Everyday Spells Are Cast

If this is the case, you will see that everything can be different from what you initially believed: namely, that you don’t need to be a wizard to cast a curse, and that to psychologically destroy a person, you don’t need some elaborate magical ritual—it’s enough to convince them that they have limitations they don’t actually possess. Once they believe this, the curse will continue to take effect, becoming stronger and stronger:

The Curse of “It Will Never Work”

-Did you have a fantastic idea, but as soon as you told a friend about it, they discouraged you in every way, claiming it would never work, and you gave up on it? You’ve just been cursed.

The Spell of “You’re Not Good Enough”

-Did you get a math problem wrong or slip while playing soccer, and someone told you that you’re no good with numbers or sports, so you gave up forever? You’ve been cursed.

Do you keep doing what everyone else does (in any field), even if you don’t get results, because you were taught that’s the only way? You’ve been cursed.

The Vicious Cycle of the “Learned Disability”

I won’t go on with examples, because each of you can find as many as you like. It is enough to remember this simple rule: anything that directs our attention toward the negative and toward what is not possible diminishes our energy, and the more it is diminished, the fewer possibilities we see, creating a vicious cycle that ends in total resignation. Based on this idea, it is clear that we are all victims of an infinite number of curses. Although it is sad to mention, these were not cast by an evil and diabolical sorcerer, but by people who apparently have our best interests at heart. And what is even sadder is that most of these curses began to take effect when we were vulnerable and believed everything our parents, teachers, and priests told us…

Needless to say, these “spells” grow stronger over time, and you will find more and more reasons to consider the limits imposed by the curse “real” because the brain is always seeking confirmation. Consequently, you will undoubtedly begin to pass on your own limitations to others, thus creating an endless chain.

Can we free ourselves from this kind of “spell”?

How to Break the Spell and Reclaim Your Potential

Yes and no; some run deep, and overcoming them requires outside help: if your energy level is at a low, it will be impossible to see the options available to you without someone’s help. In this case, a psychologist or a coach can be very helpful in reconnecting with your own potential.

I therefore suggest a series of exercises that I use in my workshops and that can prove to be eye-opening:

Exercise 1: Question the Authority of the Curse

First: every time you find yourself stuck in a “I can’t do it,” “I’ll never succeed,” “it’s not possible,” you can ask yourself a few simple questions and reflect on what comes to mind.

-Who is saying this? With what authority?
-What would happen if I did it?
-If I haven’t succeeded in the past, who’s stopping me from succeeding now?

Exercise 2: The Power of Absurd Creativity

Second: usually, we get stuck in a situation because we keep following the same strategies doomed to fail, without realizing that—by definition—at any given moment, the possibilities are infinite, and even if it doesn’t seem that way, that’s because we don’t see them.

So, try making a list of what you “can” do in a given situation, even if you don’t end up following what you write. Try to imagine the most unusual things that come to mind, perhaps even putting yourself in someone else’s shoes: What would a terrorist do? A ballerina? A philosopher? A boxer?

If you have a little fun, there’s a good chance that, starting from some crazy ideas, you’ll arrive at something concrete that—being blocked by spells—you’ve never thought of before.

Becoming the Creator of Your Reality

In conclusion, every time you encounter a limitation, you can be sure it is a curse, and that the only way to overcome it is to call upon creativity—the sole force capable of seeing the full potential contained in the present moment, without being conditioned by false limits, whether internal or external.

Let’s not forget that it is precisely the ability to create that makes us like the gods.
